The Pediatric Department at the Clinical Hospital in Tetovo has registered 139 cases in the last 48 hours, of which 12 children have been hospitalized, and doctors most often note high fever, vomiting and diarrhea.
High temperatures in recent days have contributed to an increased number of young patients at the Pediatric Department at the Tetovo Clinical Hospital.
In the last 48 hours alone, 139 cases have been registered, of which 12 children were kept for hospital treatment, while the rest were released for home therapy.
Most of the patients have symptoms such as high fever, vomiting and diarrhea. Pediatrician Dr. Isa Osmani explains that these are symptoms that are most often associated with seasonal viral infections, and their spread is encouraged by high temperatures, the way food is prepared and stored, as well as insufficient hygiene.
The doctor points out that not every case of diarrhea or vomiting requires hospitalization, but stresses that especially in young children, attention should be paid to the danger of dehydration.
