Bitola resident and high school student Mihail Nikolovski (15), is the boy that ran into the Aegean Sea and helped save a family from Bulgaria (a mother, a father and their child) from drowning.

The incident took place on the beach in Olympiada, Greece, where a three-member Bulgarian family found themselves in danger after strong waves carried them further into the sea.

At the critical moment, Nikolovski swam into the rough sea without hesitation to assist them.

According to the testimony of his family, Mihail first managed to pull out the mother, then the child, and finally the father, with which the entire family was safely pulled out of the water.

After the rescue, those present on the beach greeted the Bitola resident with a standing ovation.
