Macedonian Minister of Local Self-Government Zlatko Perinski addressed the first press conference of the “Green for Good” project in Strumica, co-financed by the European Union and the national funds of the participating countries via theInterreg VI-A IPA Greece-North Macedonia 2021-2027 programme.

The “Green for Good” project aims to reduce pollution and improve air quality through clean energy and sustainable mobility, promote renewable energy sources and smart energy management, develop green urban infrastructure and strengthen cross-border cooperation. A total of 19 projects were approved in the first call for proposals of the Interreg VI-A IPA Programme for cross-border cooperation with Greece. There are 36 beneficiaries in Macedonia participating in their implementation, with a total budget of 8,661,751 euros, of which 6,929,401 euros are financed by the European Union, while 1,732,350 euros are national co-financing. Perinski also mentioned the strategic project BorPres2 implemented within the framework of this Programme, related to the Markova Noga border crossing, assessing it as an initiative of exceptional importance for improving connectivity, mobility and economic cooperation between the two countries.
