The Macedonian real estate market is becoming the focus of foreign investment funds, confirmed National Bank Governor Trajko Slaveski on Saturday.
According to his information, a Danish fund has already bought about 40 apartments in new construction in the central city area of Skopje, as part of an investment strategy oriented towards real estate.
Whether the apartments will be rented out or kept as “frozen capital” is not yet known, but Slaveski warned that such investments are based on the expectation of further price growth – an expectation that is not guaranteed.
Experts point out that in the event of a slowdown in the economy or a change in market conditions, investors may face risk, despite the strong growth in housing prices so far, especially in the capital.
