Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski stated Wednesday that the Government is giving up on purchasing a new state-owned plane following criticism from the opposition, but emphasized that SDSM leader Venko Filipche told him at a meeting that he would not criticize the Government on that topic, because “tomorrow there will be a different government, and the plane will also be used for humanitarian purposes.”
“But I see that the opposition is not keeping its word and we will step back from that purchase and we will pray to survive the plane rides. If we crash and die, then I assume that it will become clear to all that this debate about some future government and some future prime ministers is redundant and pointless,” said PM Mickoski in response to reporter’s question.
According to the PM, the government plane is in working order, and the initiative to purchase a new one came from the people who operate the state-owned aircraft.
“They are the ones who initiated the purchase a new plane, and for the Government to secure the funds,” added Mickoski.
