Macedonian First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for European Affairs BekimSali addressed Thursday the conference with social partners and civil society organizations from Macedonia, held by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and its Western Balkans Follow-up Committee at Europe House Skopje.

In his address, Minister Salistressed that European integration is not only a governmental process, but a social project that requires the active participation of civil society, trade unions, employers’ organizations and the business community.

“Organized civil society should not be an observer, but a co-creator of reforms. The credibility of enlargement depends on real, measurable and inclusive reforms,” Sali pointed out.

The minister emphasized that the Reform Agenda within the Western Balkans Growth Plan represents an opportunity to link reforms to concrete benefits for citizens, but that success depends on shared ownership and partnership at all levels.
