After the Macedonian Ministry of Interior (MoI) received a threatening message Saturday afternoon via email that explosive devices had been placed in the Skopje City Mall shopping mall, police and fire departments rushed to the scene. The shopping mall was evacuated, meaning all visitors and employees had to leave, , causing fear and visible anxiety among the present.

After checks were carried out in the Skopje-based shopping mall, it turned out that the report was false, the Ministry of Interior informed in a press release.

“Immediately after the report was received, appropriate measures and activities were taken by police officers inside and around the building, and it was determined that it was a false bomb threat,” the Ministry of Interior has said.

This is the third case of fake bomb threats in Skopje shopping malls, meaning that previously the targets of the fake reports were two other large shopping malls.
