In anticipation of the presidential elections on April 24, the parliamentary elections on May 8 and the start of the pre-election campaign, the Electoral Code foresees pre-election restrictions for officials, public enterprises and budget expenses.
In the period of 20 days before the start of the election campaign until the end of the election of the president and deputies in the Parliament and the election of the Government, no public events can be held on the occasion of the start of construction or commissioning of buildings built with funds from the Budget or from public funds, or with assets of public enterprises or other legal entities that have state capital.
The ban on holding public events does not mean giving a public statement to a public office holder or a candidate for a public office holder at a rally, media interview, media debate or responding to a media question.
