In just two years, the average wage has increased by MKD 8,000, pensions by MKD 7,000, GDP growth went from 1.8 percent to 3.5 percent, and six motorway sections are currently being built, emphasizing that the Government is working hard and is focused on the implementation of the projects, Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Thursday in an interview with Sitel TV.

“In these two years, the average wage has gone up by MKD 8,000. Is that enough? It’s not. But, considering where we were, I think it is more than enough. We increased pensions by MKD 7,000. Is that enough? It’s not. But if we take into account that the average pension was some MKD 14,000, MKD 15,000 before this Government came to power, to increase it by 40, 45 percent in two years is a significant parameter.

If previously, here are the economic parameters, the economic growth was 1.8 percent per year, now it is 3.5 percent, so double the GDP.

Previously, students did not have textbooks for the whole year, now they have them from April to September, the other day with the minister we had a promotion of textbooks, 60,000 new textbooks that they will receive on the first of September, which previously represented a serious challenge for the previous government.

If you want to talk about infrastructure, sic motorways, on Monday we are signing the contract for the construction of Blace – Skopje motorway finally has a motorway that citizens have been waiting on for decades, which was given to a Macedonian company. And very soon the Bukojchani – Kichevo process will be completed, next year this time we will have to use the Kichevo – Ohrid motorway. Also next year this time I expect the first ten kilometers of the Prilep – Bitola motorway to be opened in both directions and the construction of the Tetovo – Gostivar, Gostivar – Bukojcani motorway to be in full swing. So for the first time now it happens that we have six motorway sections that are under construction simultaneously.

In 2024, 16 million kilograms of tobacco, 2025 26 million kilograms of tobacco. The grapes in 2024 were 70 million kilograms, in 2025, 120 – 130 million kilograms. Empty accumulations in August 2024 were 8 percent, today they are 80 percent.

Three months of unpaid wages in the National Forests and Water Management, today everything is being paid on time,” noted PM Mickoski.
