The ruling VMRO-DPMNE and Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski continue to have a multiple advantage over the opposition when it comes to voter trust, according to a poll conducted for MKD.mk between June 10 and June27 by the Market Vision agency.

When asked which political party they would vote for in the next elections, the respondents’ answers show that 20.5 percent would vote for VMRO-DPMNE, 6.2 percent for SDSM, 5 percent for DUI, 4.4 percent for VLEN, 2.9 percent for Levica and 1.5 percent for ZNAM.

Among the leaders of political parties in recent years, Hristijan Mickoski’s advantage over the others has also been convincing. Izet Mexhiti and Bilal Kasami, as leaders of VLEN, along have a higher rating than DUI leader Ali Ahmeti.
Mickoski enjoys 23.3 percent trust, Ahmeti has 5.5, and behind him is the leader of the main opposition party SDSM, Venko Filipche, with 5.1 percent voter trust.

This poll also showed that wages, pensions, unemployment, and price increases are the biggest issues facing Macedonian citizens, but crime and corruption are again in second place.

Distrust in the judiciary in general remains one of the main issues in the country.

That Macedonian citizens are firmly committed to the European integration processes is also shown by the positive response to the question of Macedonia’s possible accession to the EU, accepting the modus operandi that is already being discussed, which is membership without the right of veto. As many as 80.3 percent of respondents would accept such membership.

The poll was conducted between June 10- June27 on a sample of 1,200 respondents, representative by gender, age, ethnicity, region and type of place of residence according to data from the 2021 resident population census.

The poll was conducted using the CATI – Computer Assisted Telephone Interview method, i.e. a telephone survey on a sample size that provides a confidence interval of 95% and a margin of error of +-3%.
