VMRO-DPMNE spokesperson Valentin Manasievski accused the opposition SDSM, Levica and DUI of being to blame for the failure to adopt the new Electoral Code within the stipulated deadline, assessing that they had thereby blocked the progress of the country and the reform process.
According to Manasievski, the failure to adopt the Electoral Code is proof that opposition parties, when they have the opportunity, hinder the development of the country.
The ruling party representative pointed out that the Electoral Code should have been adopted not only because of the agreements between political parties, but also because of the incorporation of the recommendations of the OSCE and ODIHR, as well as because it is part of the Reform Agenda related to European integration.
“Nine out of ten reforms have been implemented, and the only one that remains is the direct fault of the coalition of SDS, Levica and DUI,” said Manasievski.
VMRO-DPMNE claims that opposition parties are not interested in adopting a new Electoral Code, but rather are seeking to profit politically by presenting themselves as damaged before the next elections.
