Supporters of Thaçi and convicted KLA leaders stage protest in Skopje

A protest march was held in Skopje at the Skanderbeg monument in support of former Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi and three other former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), Jakup Krasniqi, Rexhep Selimi, and Kadri Veseli, who were found guilty of war crimes and sentenced by the Specialist Chambers in The Hague.

Among those present at the protest were DUI leader Ali Ahmeti and the leader of the Alliance for Albanians, Zijadin Sela.
Former Kosovo President and KLA commander Hashim Thaçi was found guilty of war crimes and sentenced to 25 years in prison by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague.

The court also found Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi, and Jakup Krasniqi criminally liable for arbitrary deprivation of liberty, cruel treatment, torture, and unlawful killings. Krasniqi was sentenced to 25 years in prison, Veseli to 18 years, and Selimi to 13 years in prison.
