Gasoline consumption in Macedonia increased by 8.34 percent in 2025 compared to 2024, according to data from the Annual Report on the work of the Energy, Water Services and Municipal Waste Management Services Regulatory Commission (ERC).
According to the report, consumption growth was also registered for diesel by 5.17 percent, for extra light oil by 2.23 percent, and for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by 3.55 percent. On the other hand, there was a decrease in jet fuel by 53.29 percent, fuel oil by 1.12 percent and biodiesel by 2.52 percent.
Sales of petroleum derivatives on the domestic market in 2025 increased by 4.88 percent. In the structure of total consumption, diesel fuel has the largest share with 74.16 percent, followed by unleaded gasoline with 11.74 percent, fuel oil with 6.61 percent and liquefied petroleum gas with 5.22 percent.
ERC data show that almost 87 percent of petroleum derivatives were imported from Greece last year, over 9 percent from Bulgaria, 2.07 percent from Albania and 1.45 percent from Serbia.
