VMRO-DPMNE: Constitutional changes are not the last condition, Bulgaria has broader demands on Macedonia, and Filipche is ready to support them

It’s obvious that the only one who unreservedly believes Rumen Radev’s messages that constitutional amendments are the last obstacle on the road to the European Union is precisely the Bulgarian special envoy to Macedonia, Venko Filipce, VMRO-DPMNE spokesperson Valentin Manasievski told a press briefing Wednesday.

“Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Rumen Radev goes public and says that Macedonian revolutionaries like Goce Delchev and Jane Sandanski are Bulgarians, activists like the Miladinov brothers also say that they are Bulgarians, as well as the founders of Slavic literacy Cyril and Methodius, like Clement and Naum Ohridski, that they are part of Bulgarian history, there is no condemnation from Bulgaria’s special envoy to Macedonia, Venko Filipche. Rumen Radev says that the Macedonian language has existed since 1945, Filipche does not condemn his statement. Rumen Radev says that the Macedonian identity has existed since 1945, Filipche does not condemn his statement. Radev says that before 1945 we were Bulgarians, Filipche does not condemn his statement. Macedonian history, widely known and celebrated as Bulgarian, Rumen Radev presents it as Bulgarian, and Filipche does not condemn his statement. Why is what we are saying so important? Because you have the right to know what concessions would follow if SDS and Filipche were once again given the opportunity to decide on state positions. From the plane it is clear that Bulgaria has broader demands towards Macedonia that directly go into issues of Macedonian identity, history and cultural heritage, and not just about including a few thousand Bulgarians in the Constitution,” Manasievski pointed out.
